Just wanted to add this, https://blueprint2024.com/polling/why-trump-reasons-11-8/

Among top three reasons voters chose Trump over Harris: "Kamala Harris is focused more on cultural issues like transgender issues rather than helping the middle class”

I'm Canadian, but still cried when Trump won the first time. Thought it would be the end of the world etc.

Then, Biden signed the Equality Act on his first day in office and I realized, like getting doused with cold water, that the Democrats were compromised from top to bottom. They put males being in female prisons, sports, spaces at the top of their list.

The smug "it doesn't affect anyone" chorus that followed showed a callousness to women and girls and a raging hypocrisy.

Democrats earned this loss. They fought hard for it with every dismissal, every cancelation, every witch hunt and placard they waved on this socially engineered movement to replace sex with gender and profit off harm.

Apparently the Trump campaign spent more than $100m on TV ads which said “Kamala’s for they/them, Trump is for you”. Said to have tested very, very well. I think people really dislike so much of the forced speech and forced beliefs around this: you MUST offer pronouns (so people can talk correctly about me when I’m out of the room?) and MUST believe certain things. Americans chafe at that, I think.

The Trump campaign had run some effective ads primarily showing how Harris was determined to use taxpayer money to fund transsexual surgeries for prisoners, and even immigrants. They also correctly pointed out that the dems have pushed for men in women's prisons, allowed males to play on women's teams, etc. They were effective ads because they were true.

But the MSM refuses to cover any of that, in spite of widespread public opposition to these policies. And dem party leadership has no interest in what voters think or want.

It’s nothing more than compelled speech.

Many Democrats I spoke with realized as far back as 2000 that unequivocally pretending trans was real was a bad look and bad policy and would cause problems.

The anti-woman, homophobic, anti-child stance is real, and has a simple response which should never harm nobody to take: you can do what you will when an adult, but until then children cannot have genital mutilation; as adults men cannot deny women’s right of assembly, cannot falsify documents, and cannot force anyone to refer to them by false titles.

The problems have panned out precisely as we discussed years ago, only earlier than any of us imagined.

A lot of the policies that enshrined gender identity self ID and eroded women's rights happened more than 20 years ago very quietly. The International Olympic Committee first created a pathway for men in women's sports in 2003, albeit at steep cost (gonadectomy). The NCAA allowed men who identified as female into the female category as of 2010 provided they lower their testosterone to 10nmol/liter which is still in the healthy male range and ten times that of women (so, T level alone would provide performance enhancement, to say nothing of numerous other inherent male advantages). In the state I live in, one could change the sex marker on his birth certificate and legal documents as of 2018.

24 years ago I led a gay affinity group at a huge tech company, and we had speakers occasionally. I was asked to host Lynn Conway, whom I knew from [his] seminal book with Carver Mead VLSI design. The talk was on some tech topics and veered into his coping with trans at IBM and then advocacy, and a yawning chasm of delusion, mostly about his advocacy for child genital mutilation. A jaw-dropping moment, and a realization that the delusion and meaningless jibber-jabber about gender had really implanted. Like the children’s character Harriet the Spy, I take notes and have notes on ideas and people for decades now, and my notes on trans took a sharp curve then. Thank god for free speech.

What I saw was classic grooming of ordinary people to accept the premise that the delusion was normal, and that a claim otherwise would get you in awful trouble. It hasn’t for me.

The first leverage to enforce grooming was the threat of being outed as homophobic via anti-“LGBT” affinity grouping, and then the non-psychological term transphobia came into play (irrational fear of… a person whose self-conception of their phantom term gender is not in alignment with Eisenhower-era stereotyped sex traits? I have irrational fear of men dressed as hookers?)

What it took was people being rewarded for saying the people are delusional, perhaps could elicit sympathy, but cannot dictate pronouns, mandate child mutilation, and revoke women’s rights.

The shadow of a leader is large, and Trump’s shadow is quite bad. But normalizing the discussion to a factual basis of trans and appropriate response will be enormous from him, and not because people like him, but because he makes it OK for liberals and progressives to say it out loud, that it was a cause of substantial failure of this election.

A healthy Democratic Party supporting peace and prosperity, women rights and children’s health is incompatible with affirming trans.

The key was and always is physicians. With the Olympics it is posed as a medical issue with authorities which have been groomed. With children it is physicians.

The amazing thing to me is that physicians always knew that with delusions, you affirm the feelings are real, and help them find a way to live with them while understanding reality. The treatment is never to confirm the delusion, which leads to further disconnection from reality, more distress, and harm to those people and people around them.

In affirming trans delusion, Olympic contenders harmed themselves through genital mutilation, endocrine manipulation, and those around them by denying women the right to compete fairly in sports with other women.

Generally:

Verbally attacking women, destroying lesbian events, physically attacking men and women, harming women in sports, mutilating children’s genitals, suppressing free speech, removing books from libraries, removing books from bookstores, engineering firings, falsifying documents, corrupting Title IX, hospitals being attackers for mutilating children, falsifying research, disrupting conferences… this is accelerated harm to those people, and people around them.

Every single harm to children, women, and society I lay at the feet of physicians who unethically support this atrocity.

One of the problems with silencing people on an issue is that you don’t know what people really think, or just how many disagree with you.

Well now they do. But the silencing has plugged up their brains so they can’t hear. Or think. Funny for a party of people that believe they’re so smart.

Fantastic column, Thank you Sarah. I believe the issue of sex-based rights for women, particularly no men in women's sports, was critical to Trump win!

I’ve seen that “there are hardly any men in women’s sports. It’s a non-issue.” I’ve seen it both well before and after the election.

Over at the liberal Heather Cox Richardson’s Substack, I noticed her readers were completely uninterested in analyzing possible Dem policy failures, but were heavily relying on “racism and sexism” as their explanation for their loss.

She has made a few snarky remarks to gender critical people who commented on her fb posts. I stopped reading her.

Scott certainly doesn't speak for THIS man and former democratic voter. Thank goodness I am educated on the situation and am aware of how insane and harmful trans ideology is. There are other things the Democratic party is in left field with but I'll stick to the issue at hand.

It's ridiculous. Watch this guy absolutely lose his mind over the nonsense. https://x.com/ACTBrigitte/status/1855095025190797453

I'm irked at the CNN anchor with her "out of respect" we should refer to a boy as a trans girl. Respect for who? Girls everywhere whose right to even the word girl is being removed? Respect for the many members of society who do not believe in gender ideology and do not believe a person with a male body belongs in girls' sports? Respect for material reality? If the discussion is about why male bodies do not belong in female sports, then we must be able to use accurate language. Using inaccurate language is not respectful—it merely makes it impossible to talk about girls' rights

Respect for who indeed. It’s absolutely insane— it would have been a perfect moment to say “SEE? THIS— this is exactly what Americans are saying they’re tired of!”

Expand full comment

And there it is.

What if he had simply said “males in girl’s sports”?

And succinctly pointed out “Gender identities don’t play sports— bodies do”.

There isn’t a chance in hell that man with the glasses went to H.S. Or college during a time when males/boys/men played on female sports teams, used female pronouns or sex segregated spaces.

You cannot tell me that he ACTUALLY believes that males that have “gender dysphoria” are magically not “male”.

This is what needs to happen— We must say, consistently and with fortitude— It is up to boys and men to accept their “gender non-conforming” brothers; the are not and never will be female. Period.”

"It is up to boys and men to accept their “gender non-conforming” brothers"

Amen to that! Women who identify as male or nonbinary usually opt to remain in the female category (without use of testosterone). They are accepted without controversy by fellow women because they are all female, regardless of gender identity. Men who identify as women could do the same. But they rarely do. And men's/boys' sports have not been tasked with "being inclusive" and "being kind" which would be easy since trans-identified men are a subset of men—no unfair advantage

This session at the ICONS Conference had three speakers. The 2nd and 3rd speakers get more to sports advantages of men in sports. Dr. Ross Tucker showed a video of a 400m race. The video quality was poor. I provide the link to the high quality video below. Also Dr Tucker did a similar presentation at a different time. I include that link as well.

Hope you're following the Rep Seth Moulton story in Massachusetts! The protest against him today in Salem should be interesting. I hope the insanity of the trans activists will be exposed and people will finally realize that kindness has nothing to do with this.
