Gender Surveillance? Well, that’s a new one! And of course , like all good tranny lovers, he trots out the Intersex condition, which is extremely rare ! 0.08% according to Human Rights Australia. Of course, the trans cult likes to inflate the percentage, so they can keep on with their lies of more than two sexes! These people are despicable, and why the NYT publishes their crap is more than disgusting!

Disgraceful. The Times also interviewed him on their podcast and nodded along to his nonsense. Thanks for this detailed rebuttal.

NYT needs to run this article to give that “balanced” perspective they pretend to offer

I always think, if there are "as many genders as there are people!" or whatever, why are they not calling to abolish "men's" and "women's" teams period? If "sex isn't real," why are they not calling to abolish "male" and "female" teams period? The answer is the same as why they don't want "open categories." They want men who ID as women to have a pool of female athletes to beat up on and win over.

If you believe that trans women (aka men) should be allowed to compete against biological women in most sports or that they belong in women's restrooms, locker rooms and prisons then you are either cognitively impaired or intellectually dishonest.

What a great piece to read with my morning coffee. I was reflecting the other day on the two non binary athletes who are competing at the Olympics. And as you rightly point out it really is a non issue. These women are competing in their sex class. They haven’t tried to enter the male class, simply wouldn’t qualify so, they remain with women end of story. For a trans person who wakes up one day and realises they are a women and they really need to embrace everything that it means to be a woman, including entering their sport code and changing rooms it’s a game changer for them isn’t it! They just love the attention the rush of adrenaline as they take over women and push them out of the way. We all know they can’t compete with their biological sex, most wouldn’t qualify on performance criteria. So, here we are, elite sports are starting to wake up but grass roots sports need to come on side and protect the female sporting code, unfortunately most have inclusion polices which is just another word for regressive polices and allow boys to compete in the female category. I know for one thing, if my daughter came up against a male in her football league she would be physically demolished on the field. Her club sometimes train against 15 yr boys she always knows that the training session will push them, simply the boys are too fast, however she does say the boys do hold back on the field because they are playing against women. These women are 20 yrs plus, all national league football players (NZ), very talented footballers however when they train against the boys they know they will be exhausted and of course the score well generally our girls score maybe 2 goals to the boys 7 to 10.

Notable how the article jumps about from the 1920s - when sex testing would be confused by DSDs - and pretends that in the modern world we don’t have quick and accurate testing. Along with all the other rubbish in it. A good takedown, but wouldn’t it be great if they ran it past the sports desk first who could say “uhhh.. not really?” I suspect a few emails to that effect were exchanged internally after this appeared.

I posted my own analysis of Waters' article here:

I see you noted many of the outright falsehoods that I did, and that Waters is too stupid to realize he is actually just making a poorly argued case for patriarchy in a dress. When I saw that, as an act of mercy, the NYT disabled comments, I sent them my rebuttal. Alas, they are only interested in Waters' startlingly ignorant "new paradigm."

No, THIS statement is false: "Gender identity does not affect sports performance, regardless of hormonal adjustments or surgery..." Actually, a recent study funded by the IOC and published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine (https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/58/11/586) provides compelling evidence that trans women do not have an advantage by most metrics, but actually seem to have significant disadvantages, including lower jumping strength and oxygen transfer. Please consider science as a way of understanding the world.

Maybe you should have read more of my posts. I engaged the help of well-regarded physiologist Tommy Lundberg in an analysis of the "study" you linked to in this post, https://www.thefemalecategory.com/p/new-study-bolsters-idea-of-differences. The IOC funds activists like trans-identified male Blair Hamilton who conducted this ideological piece of not-science to bolster their absurd notion that males should have no presumed advantage over females, for which there is mountains of evidence against. Hamilton started out with the goal of proving that trans-identified males had no advantage over women, and recruited participants who were also interested in proving that result. That's not science. Hamilton then designed a "study" of unmatched participants—unfit trans-identified males and very fit females who of course out-performed the trans-identified men IN SOME MEASURES BUT NOT ALL, thus producing utterly meaningless results. As to being published in BJSM, you will be advised to read my previous post, https://www.thefemalecategory.com/p/put-before-the-world-what-you-wish, in which Ross Tucker explains how ideological capture by BJSM dangerously prevents the open discussion of ideas. Please consider educating yourself as to what science is, and what it is not.
