This ABC News article is remarkable because it calls out two men (and the article calls them men) as cheaters for running and winning awards in the women’s category of the Two Oceans Marathon.
Telling men that they're ineligible for the female category has, until recently, proven nearly impossible for sports organizations to do. Instead, they changed the eligibility policy for the female category because they have no problem telling women No. No, you don't have a right to single-sex sports. No, this person is not a man despite all evidence to the contrary
I’m aware of no other rule or category in sport that isn’t enforced. Not age or weight or equipment or attire or wind or ability categories. Only the “Sex” category goes by the honor system. Hmmm, what could be different 🤔
Before the word "women's" was redefined to include men, registering for the NYC Marathon or using the restroom or attending an AA meeting designated for women worked quite well, all based on the honor system. Gender identity broke the honor system; gender identity claims MY truth is more important than THE truth. People know what sex they are, and if an organization simply states (now that that is necessary) that by women, they mean biological women, most people will abide by those rules. Organizations have to commit to a reality-based meaning of the word "women's", and be prepared to discipline offenders who have dishonored the honor system.

“It’s an athletic competition, not an exercise in affirmation.” Brilliant. Though I would say that if male athletes want to be “affirmed in their female identity,” bowing out of the female competition to “be nice” to the female athletes and make them feel heard and to spare hurt feelings, would be very female coded, because women and girls are taught to put the feelings of other people before their own feelings and needs all the time. So there would be an exercise in affirmation available right there!

The inability or lack of interest by males who identify as women to live the authentic life of a woman—lots of unpaid labor, emotional labor un relationships, making 20% less than you did as a man—identify even the most amazingly groomed passing "trans woman" as a man. I have yet to read about a "trans woman" wiping noses, wiping behinds, packing lunches, schlepping over to Target at 10pm because the house is out of toilet paper. Putting others feelings/needs ahead of his own. Again, whether these behaviors are simply not possible from a man brain, or because that's not the part of "woman" they're interested in, that these female coded behaviors don't happen is a blinking neon sign that says MALE

They want two things from “being a woman”: oppression points; the identity of a victim that gives them special rights and privileges they think they need and deserve, (and the ability to silence those who do not give them this special victim status)and to feel like a sexual object desired by men or lesbians. Thats it.
