Thank you Sarah for writing your letter---and it find it amazing that the paper published it. I am not surprised by some of the comments. Some people are simply delusional---make sports unisex? Obviously these individuals have no idea of the biological difference between the sexes in sports performance. Girls and women deserve sex protected rights. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deeply misogynistic.
Actually girls and women deserve to have a right that pretty much everyone else has, i.e., the right to freedom of association, kind of a mainstay of human rights.
That they are often denied that right -- the case of "Ms. Tess" Tickle vs Giggle for example -- seems a rather egregious and odious case of discrimination.
I am surprised that they actually published the letter ,and if they did not censor any of the comments they should be applauded. Now hows about they run major stories that present equal reporting on the whole gender identity mess , rather than cater to the tyranny of a miniscule minority. Now that would be making an attempt at journalism rather than serving as a propaganda organ.
I am very surprised they published it, and yes, one of the results of media's slavish commitment to the trans narrative is that people who support single-sex sports don't realize they are in the vast majority
👍 Good for you. Haven't read it all yet myself, but kind of think it helps to challenge ideological claptrap, particularly in various newspapers. ICYMI, an APNews story that uses "transgender girls" to refer to juvenile male transvestites, i.e. to gender non-conforming boys:
APNews: Transgender girls who challenged Trump sports order ...
Thank you Sarah, for standing up to Gov. Walz, who ran along with Kamala Harris, who let trump sink their campaign over their inability to answer him back with common sense and science when he ran the anti-trans ads late in the campaign. The wishy washy on the left could sink our Democracy if they keep up this gaslighting and let the republicans continue to drive the narrative.
Same old misogynist claptrap based on a zero-sum view of life; any $ spent on female sports is an attack on males. The same misogynists aren't screeching for the weight categories in men's boxing to go away.
Exactly. Why is Walz not berating boxing and wrestling for not letting heavyweights into the lightweight division? That's cruel, right? It's so obviously nonsensical
I think it’s very telling. If “trans” males are definitively blocked from participating in sports for girls and women, their next move will be to try to destroy them. The point is power and control.
Saying no distinctions should be made in sports effectively eliminates women.
Misapplication of the principle that there would be no racism if everyone reproduced only with people of other races for a couple of generations. I wonder how many of these commenters have ever played or even watched sports.
Yes. Everyone, everyone has been in gym class. They know. Though the misogyny is visible from the moon, they cannot seem to see that because a tiny handful of men have demanded to compete in women's sports, the answer is to virtually eliminate women's sports. This has been the problem at all levels from the very start of this decades ago--simply telling a tiny number of men making insane demands NO is never even considered. It's astounding. Yet, the few times it has happened--in states that support Title IX, in Alberta CA, once in Australian football league—it has worked. Men who identify as women can still think that. They do not spontaneously combust. Life goes on and women continue to have women's sports and spaces. As the SCOTUS document illustrates, it's reality, it's the law. There's no drama
This will change when women stop voting for Democrats. No more "But Trump!"; no more crying about MAGA. Vote for a perfectly sane but boring Republican who doesn't check every last weird box and watch the official Dem position change overnight. If only men voted, this would have been solved already. When the Dems start losing elections, then, and only then, they will finally change.
Until the party can define "Woman" in an acceptable manner...

Completely agree!

It was a great letter Sarah..so glad they published it. It lets other know that there are more in agreement with them.

Four or five comments there by yours truly objecting to that rather "biased" terminology.

Good point.
Do you hear the people blather, singing the noise of confused ideas ......
The number of commenters who saw the "solution" to fairness as one team, unisex. The stupidity is eye-watering

Thank you for your persistence. An ordinary person would have given up writing after so many years of being denied a voice in their publication.

Stop.
Voting.
For.
Democrats.
