We all know that sport is the great teacher of skills used to make the world run: team work, critical thinking, time management, communication, self-analyzation, and ETHICS. Athletes are fully aware of rules: foot behind the line, stay in your lane, no punching below the belt. And they know the process when they believe those rules have been violated: usually it's notification to a race official or organizer. Followed by an investigation and decision. In your scenario those kids knew there was a violation, yet the adults in the room didn't come to their defense. Thus demonstrating to kids that cheating is perfectly acceptable, hell even encouraged. It's a sad reflection of what we have given up in sports. And I shiver to think what sport, as well as corporate America, will look like in the future.
Exactly. In this case, when "participation" without fairness was prioritized, the kid I know opted out, once she knew the organizers weren't going to ensure fairness. Natural consequences in action. But my concern, as I mentioned, is that this same nine-year-old , who completely understands that boys are bigger, faster, stronger, has without doubt been indoctrinated into believing that a boy who calls himself a girl is a girl. And all the adults will kowtow to this lie. So she may not see this as cheating in the same way as she saw a kid cutting a race course as cheating.
Here is how these adults think! Marvel at their intelligence and compassion. I will never get over this phenomenon.
Its a long story but, I actually found the "trans" thing kind of...reassuring in a strange way, as well as sickening and sad. It's a long story. Anyways, our society is screwed.

This is the crime. Schools are lying to children. They're just not sophisticated enough to understand that
