Alison has lost it. It is especially sad to see women throwing their sisters under the trans bus.

And for the record, I have 40+ years of coaching women runners and organizing women's only races.

Excellent post. Male athlete who has only run track for TWO months and now a state champ and state runner-up with the 8th best 400m time in the country in the women's category deprives a 10th grade female from a 100/200 double and an undefeated season and Wade is, "but what about the poor transgirl." For the life of me, I can not understand how fellow female athletes of all people will sell out other female athletes to curry favor ... for what? SMDH.

Do you know -- Is Wade willing to sell all female athletes down the river or just high school girls?

I just commented on Wade's post here:

https://fastwomen.substack.com/p/fast-women-track-season-really-gets

She immediately deleted my comment, banned me, and turned off all comments on that post.

Here is my comment, which I have also published as a Note: https://substack.com/@marksmusings/note/c-56880777

>You have sold out every woman runner in the world, you have sold out every woman athlete in the world, by endorsing men competing against women, under the false claim that they are women.

>These men are not women and never can be. They are liars, cowards, bullies, and thieves who are stealing from women what rightly belongs to women.

>For you to endorse their awful behavior against women is shameful.

I’m an older woman, 76, pre title 9. We fought so hard for women’s sports. I qualified and ran the Boston marathon for over 20 years, starting in 1978. This was before they even had women’s running clothes or decent shoes. We bought our clothes and shoes in the boys department. We trained hard and it was great! It wasn’t an Olympic event until 1984! Now the Boston Marathon has a stupid nonsensical non binary category with prize money. The qualifying standard for male and female NBs is the equivalent of the woman’s qualifying. Of course the men get a break and therefore can win prize money.

Good on ya! I too am a pre-Title IX woman. I just wore a t-shirt and shorts that I may have purchased at Sears. My first shoes were actual tennis shoes—Tretorns

🙂women would sometimes wear tennis skirts and shoes for lack of anything better. I lived in DC when I first took up running and a woman runner and her daughter started making clothes in their basement. It morphed into the Moving Comfort brand which we all loved. Eventually sold to a major company. But women getting it done back then just like Allyson Felix and her new Sayash brand

Wade is not thinking…just going by her virtue signaling, so I say BOOOO ! to Wade, and though it may be rude, I would have booed at Gallagher ‘s stealing the race! Maybe it will teach him a lesson in fairness!

It’s about time people expressed their opinion instead of having to smile brightly as the girls on Riley Gaines ‘ swim team had to when “Lia” Thomas stole the prize from Gaines! Of all things , sports should be fair!

And you don’t congratulate liars and thieves!

I think most people don't want to boo a teenager. They don't accept that he's a girl, they see that the policy is wrong and comes at the expense of girls, but they have not been listened to. This was the ugly result of bad policy based on ideology, and the crowd made their feelings known

No one who supports men competing in women’s sports has one ounce of intellectual integrity. It’s as simple as that.

In situations like this, where you would think the person in question would be well-aware of all the reasons why what they are saying is wrong, I do genuinely wonder. Is it a lack of critical thinking, or courage?

Why can’t trans athletes have their own competitions/organizations? They don’t need to be competing against women or taking away from their participation experience.

"Why can’t trans athletes have their own competitions/organizations? They don’t need to be competing against women or taking away from their participation experience.?"

Because if trans women had their own athletic competitions and sports organizations, it would greatly undermine the principal tenet of their movement, which is that trans women are women. They absolutely must compete against real women and must be publicly seen doing so in order to maintain the central fiction that animates their lives. It's not a metaphorical extravagance to say that when a trans woman wins a medal, that medal also affirms her womanhood.

I does not need to be that way. Peaceful civil disobedience is a greatly underappreciated tool for bringing about social change. If my life circumstances were different, I'd gladly turn out to protest at sporting events in which trans women were competing against real women in women's-only events.

A progressive young Black woman athlete who opposed trans women's participation in women's-only sports competitions would soon discover that there really is such a thing as cancel culture on the left. Alison Wade would not want to risk everything she's gained by standing up for principle.

Yes of course, but explaining something more complex to others isn’t necessary when the issue is the female foetus as a template. Males don’t evolve from the female; difference begins at conception.
