Thank you Sarah for your dogged efforts to make things right for girls and women in sports, in the face of egregious gaslighting and stonewalling. Please take care of yourself and keep up the good work!
Sarah, First THANK YOU for speaking. Second, thank you for being correct about the underhanded manner that the MSHSL. And even if you were not correct on that (which I knew you were right from the start), that would not have diminished your message that girls deserve their own sports!!! KUDOS
As always, we appreciate your tenacity (and the shout out) in the face of corrupt idiocy. You are a formidable opponent, whether they know it or not, and sooner or later they will be forced to face the music. When? Who knows, but it's Minnesota, so…
"In a reply, he asked not to be quoted, referenced, or represented in any way that suggested affiliation with, endorsing, or speaking on behalf of any organizations related to “this topic,” which I will respect. "
Why on earth would you respect the wishes of a liar who gaslit you in public?
Not sure he purposely gaslit me. Rather that he questioned that I didn't know the process of bylaw amendment when in fact he didn't know the process. I will need to work with this person again; I did what I came to do on Aug 18th, and I appreciated that this person was even curious enough to wonder where we got our information.
I read the MSHSL Constitution's section on making changes to the bylaws many many times and cannot say for sure what that process is, and I think that ambiguity is purposeful. I am 100% sure that boys are not girls and do not belong in girls' sports. Mostly I'm fueled by anger that I did have to screw up my courage to say that out loud.
Brava for the dogged determination in the face of an obstacle course!
Kudos on your persistence, and sympathies on living in MN.

Thanks! I think my public speaking efforts have more to do with shamelessness than doggedness

👏👏👏👏👏
Good work! Clear and to the point. A common-sense template for winning.
Sarah you're wonderful, brave and ethical. Thank you for your determination and dedication to women's rights.
Thank you for speaking out, Sarah! The more of us who do, the more people will hear us, and then speak out themselves. We are the majority!

Simply put: F*ck that sh*t! Name and shame him.

Ah. A possible closeted ally.
No. There's no point in "naming and shaming" this person
I'm sorry if I gave that impression in my response. I don't disagree.
I have had discussions a bit with Beth about this and allies and the rather astonishing crazy of it all. I respect her and what she has done.
Courage scale 0-100.
1. Tom Ruen 15 (I hate being possibly wrong or unsure on facts in public!)
2. Sarah Barker 76 (everyone's hero who knows the facts!)
3. Beth Bourne 3942 (sometimes a tad over the top, but necessary)
